How it works
One request, one call, one honest answer.
You do not have to explain yourself twice, and you do not have to wonder what she said. Here is the whole shape of it.
What happens when you ask
-
You tell her what you need
By phone, in the app, or on the web. You do not need to phrase it in any particular way. If she is missing something she needs, such as which pharmacy or which date, she asks.
She also asks you to confirm anything she is unsure she heard correctly, rather than guessing at a name or a number.
-
She reads back exactly what she will share
Before she dials, she tells you the organisation she is calling and reads out the specific list of details she intends to give them. Your date of birth, perhaps. A prescription number. Nothing else goes with her.
If an item on that list is one you would rather not share, you take it off, and she works without it or tells you why she cannot.
-
She makes the call
She opens by saying who she is and who she is calling for. She holds the line, presses through the menus, repeats herself to the third person she is transferred to, and keeps going.
If the person on the other end insists on speaking with you directly, she stops there and tells you. She does not try to talk her way around it.
-
She reports back
What was agreed. What was refused. What is still open, and who owes the next move. If the call failed, she says it failed and tells you what she tried, rather than dressing it up.
You get a record you can go back to, so you are not relying on remembering it.
What she says when she calls
She never opens a call pretending to be you. The disclosure comes first, before anything is asked for, because a pharmacist or a scheduler is entitled to know who they are talking to.
Organisations deal with authorised representatives every day. Maya is one, for one request at a time, and she says so.
Hello, my name is Maya. I am an assistant calling on behalf of one of your patients, with their permission. I am not the patient. May I go ahead?
An illustration of how a call opens. The exact wording varies with who she is calling and what she has been asked to do.
Where the line is
The limits are the point, not the fine print.
She will
- Identify herself as an assistant on every call.
- Answer routine verification questions from what you have told her.
- Act on one request, then let that authority end with it.
- Warn you if a provider is likely to text your own phone to verify.
- Tell you honestly when something did not work.
She will not
- Claim to be you, under any circumstances.
- Share a detail you did not approve for that call.
- Give medical advice, diagnose anything, or recommend treatment.
- Work around an organisation that insists on speaking with you.
- Help in an emergency. She will tell you to call 911.
Emergencies
If this is a medical emergency, hang up and dial 911. Maya cannot help in an emergency and will tell you so.
Getting set up
A few minutes, once.
- 1. Your phone number
- You give the mobile number you want Maya tied to. We text you a code to confirm it is yours.
- 2. A payment method
- Steadyline runs from a prepaid balance. Card details are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number.
- 3. A PIN
- A short PIN of your choosing. Maya asks for it before anything consequential, such as changing the number on your account.
- 4. Google, if you want it
- Optional, and reversible at any time. It lets her see when you are free, add appointments she arranges, and look up a provider number from your contacts. What she can and cannot see.
- 5. Call her
- You get a number to ring. That is the whole product from then on.
Nothing is shared before you say so
Connecting Google, saving a provider, or approving a list of details are separate decisions, each asked for plainly and each reversible. Maya proposes; you decide.
This is a beta
Calls are recorded during the beta so problems can be found and fixed, and you are told at the start of each call. Things will sometimes go wrong. Maya is built to tell you when they do, but check anything that matters. The terms say this in full.
Ready when you are.
Set up an account, then hand her the next call on your list.
